Name of the article edit

Hello Alex. The article on Tsarina Golden Palace is tagged for copyediting and I am about to do this. The Kremlin web site calls it the "Golden Tsarina's Chamber". The article itself uses the phrase "Tsarina's Golden Chamber", which I think might be better because it's the chamber rather than the tsarina that is golden :)

In the history, I see that the article started its life with the title "The Tsarina's Golden Chamber", and that you moved it to its present tile because of MOS. I agree with this, at least because MOS says that article titles should not begin with "the". But I wonder if it might be good to move it to "Tsarina's Golden Chamber" (without "the" at the start). I would like to do this, but what is your view, please? --Stfg (talk) 08:45, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • I actually don't sure about the correct name for the article. Russian word palata (палата, the same root as in English word palace) might mean both a building (palace) or a room (chamber). The article is about the building that is mostly notable because of the chamber. Indeed that is the chamber that is golden not the building but we are talking not only about the chamber but also about the outside building. It is confusing. If we could translate the word palata the way to keep the ambiguity it will be great. I will copy the section on the talk page of the article, might be somebody could give better arguments either way. I am personally lean for the name with the word palace but I an not to revert you if you move to the name with the word chamber Alex Bakharev (talk) 09:24, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • Thanks. I have moved it, because I think it is best for the article title and text to be consistent with each other and with the sources. Can you give a citation for it's being the name of the building as well as the chamber? That would be helpful, I think. --Stfg (talk) 09:54, 24 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
