Motivation for use edit
Inspired by this stackexchange discussion, I want to ask: why would I want to use an entropy that is not additive for independent subsystems? It seems that I could get into a big mess because the entropy would depend on how I decided to divide a given system into subsystems (a totally arbitrary choice). It's not clear why the Gibbs entropy needs to be "fixed" in this way. Nanite (talk) 14:13, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
