Donkey picture
editI'm neither named Trina nor a female, but I find using the picture of a donkey (or whatever it is) to illustrate the name Trina to be offensive. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.164.76.91 (talk)

Scandinavian origin?
editI cannot find any references confirming that Trina is of Scandinavian origin. For example, both Árni Dahl, Navnabókin (2005) and Roland Otterbjörk, Svenska förnamn (1979) refer to this name as a short form of names ending with -trina, -trine or -trin. The Scandinavian names that have these endings are: Katrin/-a/-e, Petrin-a/-e and Astrine. Only the latter has Scandinavian origin, but this is a very rare dialect form of Astrid, and is not likely to be the origin of Trina. Mollerup (talk) 09:23, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
