Naming edit

Why is format of the IUPAC name different from Chlorodimethylsilane, for example? —DIV (138.194.12.32 (talk) 05:52, 8 January 2010 (UTC))Reply

That doesn't make sense to me, either - I'd have thought that the IUPAC name would be chlorotrimethylsilane. I'm trying to check this. Walkerma (talk) 20:18, 4 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

TMSCl and nitrogen fixation edit

Hello Smokefoot,

On trimethylsilyl chloride, although using TMSCl for introducing atmospheric nitrogen is suggestive from the reaction among TMSCl, lithium and nitrogen, I wonder how far the idea of organosilicon compound in fixing nitrogen can be extended ? For example, can hydrogen, water or hydrogen chloride react with (TMS)3N to give ammonia ? On nitrogen fixation, I simply describe subsequent reaction of (TMS)3N. Also I suggest putting THF back to the description for first reaction. CrCl3 needs THF even though the latter is just a solvent. -- Mountainninja (talk) 04:59, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Reference 2 seems off-topic. I suggest "An Improved Technique to Minimize Cation Absorption in Neutral Solutions". M.S. Caceci and G.R. Choppin. Radiochimica Acta 33, 113-114 (1983) Please somebody help edit and put in proper format... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.128.151.181 (talk) 08:51, 23 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
