I think this article needs discussion of the mechanism of action of HDAC inhibition. I don't know what that is exactly, but a reference or note would be useful.

Ummm....who exactly does this Trichostatin A serve as an antifungal antibiotic, and in what manner? Is it really even being used as an antibiotic antifungal, or is it really being used for something else? Is it experimental, is it used on humans, is it injected, applied, snorted, swallowed, who knows??? Is it a liquid, powder, gas, is it made from bananas, why is it not being used for anything by anybody....or is it? People are selling it on the Internet, so who is buying it for what use? This is a very poorly written article that does not explain what this "organic compound" actually is at all. If you don't already know what this is, the article isn't going to help much. I came to this page by way of a reference from the butyric acid page, where the other HDAC inhibitor listed, sodium butyrate, seemed pretty clearly explained.76.244.69.255 (talk) 03:17, 31 May 2011 (UTC)

I came here by serching for Trichostatin A after reading "Grandma's Experiences Leave a Mark on Your Genes". That article may be a good source of information for answering some of the questions listed by others. Also, I'm interested in knowing what Trichostatin A is derived from. The article simply states it is an organic compound. Does it come from plants, animals, fungus, or something else? Frankcjones (talk) 22:10, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
