Talk:Tributes to Eddie Guerrero

Hello All,

I understand there will be temptation to dispute this article's neutrality or put it up for deletion just because it may simply appear as glorifying Eddie Guerrero.

However, the need for a special article, just like RAW is Owen was expressed by many Eddie fans on Eddie's bio-page.

I'm carrying out that very appropriate desire, and I ask for all Eddie and WWE fans to help in making this purely factual and a Wikipedia article of quality, for Eddie's sake.

I love you Eddie. I'm gonna really miss you.

Should it be noted that Mysterio has of recent times been using some of Eddie's moves as well as hs own?

Seems like someone screwed up the RAW tribute portion of the article. If I knew how, I would fix it up a bit.

Controversy

I think something should be added about the controversy surrounding Eddie's death as far as the view that Mysterio is exploiting it for success.NightShade|]]

Mysterio [Jr.] has been a Main-Eventer for years and was one of Eddie's real-life best friends. I fail to see how that is "exploiting" him when all that Rey is really doing is paying tribute to his friend.

This is a disgraceful suggestion. If you hate Rey or don't think he deserves the title just be honest about it don't pull this "he only got the title by manipulating the WWE with the fact he was friends with Eddie" crap. If he was to only hold the title as a final tribute to Eddie's memory it would have changed hands again by now. Rey is a hard working member of the WWE who is being rewarded for that with a title reign.Night Bringer 10:38 (GMT +10) July 5.

WM 22 Match?

Should it be noted that the WM22 Triple threat match is believed to also be a tribute to Guerrero? (the last match Eddie was scheduled to be in was a triple threat WHC match and the WM22 match also involves Orton, the WHC, and the person in Eddie's memory [Mysterio] respectively.) Why have a Controversy section?

This is supposed to be about tributes to him such as ways of saying goodbye. It's about the t-shirts and videos that have been made of him. The controversy of his death should be moved to his section. None of the controversial stuff is actually a tribute to him.

Original Research

The "Controversy" section adds claims about Rey Meysterio possibly winning the title out of sympathy and so on. It uses weasel words like "Some fans" and so on. While what is said may be true, one must cite verifiable sources to actually support these claims. LuciferMorgan 17:40, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

I added 'some fans' and the other weasel words because orginally it was 'by fans that he could not be taken seriously as champion' etc a very generalised statement made by one person. I personally didn't, and don't, believe that but since others have the right to their opinion and it is certainly a possibility I altered it to reflect that it is a view only held by some WWE fans.
