Relationship between Exalted and World of Darknessedit
As written, the article states as fact that "Exalted does not officially take place in the timeline of the World of Darkness". From what I understand, the relationship between the two is a lot more ambiguous than that. Much of the setting was written to provide appetizing crossover hooks between the two games, and statements on the forums made by the developers when the game released bantied around many theories of "what becomes what" when Exalted becomes the World of Darkness. The introduction of the core book is written as though to a modern audience, to warn them that they are being lied to by old scientists (the Technocracy, in setting)--and that Exalted is in fact the prehistory of the setting. Anyway without getting too carried away with examples, it's at least clear that Exalted could be taken as the prequel game to the World of Darkness, but that individual player groups could use it however they wanted. Saying it isn't connected, at least without some kind of source, is inaccurate.
