Title Transliteration
editI have not been able to find a title transliteration online. The best I could come up with on my own is Chhanga Huba Thengasa Gachiga Gi 'Athrula Snanga, but that puts a space for every syllable separator, which may be incorrect. --Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 10:13, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Scottandrewhutchins:, the correct transliteration seems to be "chang hub thengs gcig gi ’khrul snang". It's the result given by online Unicode to Wylie transliteration services. It's also used in "Great Journeys in Little Spaces: Buddhist Matters in Khyentse Norbu’s Travellers and Magicians" by Georgios T. Halkias published in International Journal of Buddhist Thought & Culture Vol. 28. No.2 (December 2018). TryKid (talk) 08:19, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
- It's seems to be Tibetan transliteration though. If the title is in Dzongkha (I'm not sure it is), the more appropriate scheme would seem to be the van Driem scheme, and it looks like you were trying to transliterate using that scheme. If you have access to "Travelers and Magicians" book by Noa Jones, you can find a lot of information. Regards, TryKid (talk) 08:25, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
- The box says that the film is in Dzongkha, so I was trying to transliterate it based on Dzongkha tools online. It seems really long and wordy, but I know next to nothing about the language, which is one of the reasons I suspected I may have made a mistake, in the spacing if nothing else. --Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 17:28, 29 October 2019 (UTC)
- Perhaps it's worth mentioning that the original title has nothing to do with travellers or magicians: ཆང་ཧུབ་ཐེངས་གཅིག་གི་འཁྲུལ་སྣང (chang hub thengs gcig gi 'khrul snang) means more or less "Beer-gulping hallucination". 2.37.165.174 (talk) 15:41, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

editI didn't archive the previous page and it's down now. A new page has come up on the redesigned site but the numbers are different. TryKid (talk) 08:13, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
