This article is biased edit

This article may as well be called 'why travel insurance sucks and is pointless (for people in the US)'

I get the feeling this should be linked in the Insurance category page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Insurance), however it needs, well, rewriting to fit with the more factual style of the other pages there.

I'm fairly new to wikipedia so be nice. I'll be happy to write a bit based on my knowledge, but probably can't write a full article! --Careless hx 20:22, 2 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

agree, very biased edit

I work for an Emergency Travel Assistance Company and I find this article very biased, almost insulting, not to mention misleading. Firstly, not all policies require the patient be transported to the "nearest appropriate" facility, but this is usually what is medically recommended to stablize the patient; The ultimate goal IS to get the patient home, but that may not be possible in one evacuation. Patients are sometimes too medically unstable to travel long distances. Evacuation coverage is the #1 reason to purchase travel insurance, and I have seen first-hand the unhappy results of people who don't, or fail to buy policies adequate for the part of the world they're traveling in. This article is in serious need of revision and balance. Until then, for a more balanced perspective, I always refer clients to www.insuremytrip.com ; I don't work for them, I just think their website is excellent. My company isn't the best, but we try very hard, and we DO answer the phones, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We save lives and enjoy our work very much. -JJR
