This article seems to only advertise a couple websites. No books, articles, or media seem to take the term as it is being used here (via Google Scholar, Google News). This is barely worth an article at all, much less this particular article. 68.63.170.169 (talk) 06:23, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

transpartisanship/sunshine cabinet/seismic urgency. edit

This was urged by George Washington, who decried the rise of political parties. It's not for the lazy who look around a room and see how their friends are voting. Transpartisanship allows/forces one to think for herself. Is the human a pack animal? Are we prone to form "gangs"? Yes. Do the dominant gangs ( R. and D.) stack the deck in favor of themselves? Yes. Ralph Nader has sued about this entrenchment in Pennsylvania, for example. Is it more work to think for yourself? Yes.

Since the 80's we of the Greens have promoted transpartisan cabinetry as a solution to national politics. I am pleased to hear the negative-conoting term "shadow cabinet" (widely in use advising and critiquing those in power "sthroughout the former British Empire and England) being turned into "sunshine cabinet," though websearch yields nothing. At 900 years old, Switzerland is earth's oldest Democracy. There, a seven member cabinet are elected based on their expertise and positions in one area, defense, agriculture, whatever. The presidency rotates as might the mayor's position among a city council.

Vonnegut warned me personally that this focus on cabinet would lead to parties offering up sports and movie stars to grab the votes of the masses. Then came the balance to the left-handed compliment: "...but I like the way your brains work."

You can see some place-holders mentioned at one point in time, also some historical endorsements at www.GreenCabinet.org. Both Ralph and Cynthia McKinney were aware of this option but didn't implement it during their campaigns, nor did grandson of Baptist preacher and one-time Green Presidential Candidate David Cobb.

Seismic activity along the edge of the plates is the urgent issue of the moment of this posting however. Check the National Geological Survey's earthquake maps, updated hourly. Alaska, California, Japan...these places are doomed and there's not enough preparation for the benefit of the populations playing chicken with Gaia's tendency to frequently yawn and stretch.

Best wishes to all transpartisans. May you not garner the fear and uneasiness most of us have toward the transgendered.

For all of you, I have plays available to you for community-building, consciousness and fund raising at www.mootney.org.

with my sincere encouragement,

Glenn Hopkins Ca. Greens International Protocols Committee
