Move to Trams and Light Rail Australasia edit

I think this would be best moved to trams and light rail in Australasia as it all ready has info on light rail such as in Sydney and the proposed system across Australia. (L blue l 02:24, 15 December 2006 (UTC))Reply

I am unsure if this should be stay as Australasia or split into two sections Australia and New Zealand. What do you think? (L blue l 03:01, 15 December 2006 (UTC))Reply

Well I intend to split it to expand the brief NZ section! Hugo999 11:04, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Endorse expansion. Split the article, expand the states and countries, and leave an overview here. There is a lot to say about them and light rail. Fred 13:40, 30 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

new split pages edit

See the new split articles; the main page will become a 'disambig page:

Nice work. You got my full surport to make this into a diambiguous when your ready. L blue l 07:23, 9 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Anytime, but I am told that this Discussion should be transferred to the new Australian article. PS Trams in New Zealand now has pix from Wikimedia. Hugo999 13:41, 13 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Drop-centre Cars edit

Moved to end of History section, as it hardly needs to be up the top in the intro! Have said they are similar to American Hedley-Doyle stepless type, how similar/same are they? Book on Brill Co has a picture of the Brisbane "Big Lizzie". PS: how about a section on Australiam manufacturers? Hugo999 (talk) 09:10, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Australian Tram Builders edit

Comeng then ABB then Adtranz and finally Bombardier were 'owners' of the Dandenlong plant. I would suggest that every thing built in that plant should be merged into one builder with a note about the changing owners. That would put the Sydney Variotrams in the same 'box' as the Melbourne Z, A and B classes - they all came out of the same factory and probably some workers managed to work on constructing all 4 types. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.76.219.176 (talk) 21:55, 20 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why is the term "Type" being applied to Adelaide trams (H, I, J) rather then "class"? Is it an official usage?Shrdlu junction (talk) 02:38, 23 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Broken Hill ? edit

The chart shows trams at Broken Hill up to 1970. The tram service in Broken Hill ended in the 1920's. The "Silverton Tramway" operating to 1970 did not operate "trams", it was a freight railway interconnecting Broken Hill to the South Australian (Government) Railway.Eregli bob (talk) 15:41, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welshpool Horse Tram edit

Should the Welshpool horse tram run by the VR (although it is also sometimes listed as the 5th government narrow gauge railway) be included in the chart "Timeline – all tramways"? -- ThylacineHunter (talk) 05:58, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
