On 29 January 2009 the Telegraph in the UK reported that the Roman Catholic Church will appoint a Prelature to oversee the inclusion of the Traditional Anglican Communion into its body by Easter of 2009.

Mr Thompson's excellent blog (which is not a news service) said that this was being reported; it is not the case or at least this link is not enough to support the statement that "the Telegraph ... reported" anything. Size

It would be useful to know a general figure for the number of adherents. That's mostly what I came to this article looking for -- are we talking a couple thousand people? a major chunk of the Anglican Communion? -- and it's totally not there. Vultur (talk) 02:46, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

They aren't part of the Anglican Communion at all. As far as numbers go it seems to be anyone's guess and depends on who you actually include. The usual number bandied about is 400,000 but some suggest that this is a very generous figure. Anglicanus (talk) 11:52, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

But are they a major chunk of Anglicanism? I think that a figure needs to be mentioned. If 400,000 is what is reported then that is what should be said here, properly sourced of course. People can take it with a grain of salt, as they should any church's claims for membership. Does any church have an accurate list of members? What does it mean to be a member of a church? How often does one need to attend? Does one need to contribute? Does one need to even leave a name? Any thinking/Wiki-reading person knows that when an organization claims a certain membership that it is subject to a number of questions. A number is helpful for comparison, even if just an order of magnitude -- 10,000, 100,000, 1,000,000? -- and that is useful, and a vital part of any encyclopedia. --Bruce Hall (talk) 18:02, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

I found a source mentioning the 400,000 figure. I'll add in a sentence and see what people think. We need something and 400,000 is better than nothing. Church of the Torres Strait

My understanding is that all the diocese of Torres Strait joined the Brazil Apostolic Catholic Church (except one parish which joined the Ordinariate). Is anything left that belongs to the TAC? --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 01:06, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
