Military blocs edit

Where can I find a page with 'military blocs'?

-G

Here is the wikipedia list over millitary alliances (blocs): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_military_alliances Arnkristen (talk) 22:06, 24 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

GUAM edit

Shouldn't GUAM be included in the list?

Courts edit

Could the section 'Comparison between regional trade blocs' contain a column on supra-national courts. ie.e. Central American Court of Justice etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JAC Esquire (talkcontribs) 21:43, 17 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

NATO edit

While many members of the European Union are also members of NATO it is not accurate or objective to state that NATO is an official defence pact of the European Union. Especially as several members of the union have committed to a policy of neutrality, and have rejected multiple offers to join the defence pact, please see Ireland and Austria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.193.65.150 (talk) 09:47, 13 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Not a monetary union edit

I don't fancy reworking these poorly designed tables but the European Economic Area is definitely not a monetary union. I don't know without checking but I doubt strongly that the Caribbean nations have a common currency. The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States articles say that four members do not use the XCD, so that one fails too. For now, I am just tagging the table as disputed, but the tables need to be relabeled. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 23:01, 16 April 2022 (UTC) revised --23:06, 16 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

@John Maynard Friedman: Well spotted! I have moved the EEA. OECS is listed at Economic and monetary union § List of economic and monetary unions, which does appear to be true if only counting the fully sovereign member states, all six of which use the Eastern Caribbean dollar. I have clarified the article Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States and added "(sovereign states)" to the table on Trade bloc. Hopefully that resolves the accuracy concern, so I have removed the tag. Corrections welcome. And updates - much of the coverage of this topic appears to be 10+ years old. Feel free to ping me if there's further activity in this thread. -- Beland (talk) 02:50, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
