I don't think I can finish the review this morning, but I should be able to get back to this later in the week if not tonight.
- Most of the external links in the footnotes are dead: I was going to list them individually but it seems to be all of CNN and SI. I'd suggest using archive.org to archive these when you relocate the pages; you can get archive.org to make a permanent copy and then use that link in the citation -- see here.
- Mike, this is the same issue we experienced with Catie Ball's footnotes -- Sports Illustrated has repeatedly changed the addresses for their "Vault" archive articles over the last several years, and it has become a significant article maintenance issue. I have updated the links for all but one of the SI articles, and I am still searching for a current link for it. If I can't find it in the SI Vault, then I will utilize the Wayback Machine to link to the old version of the article. I have also double-checked the current functionality of all of the other footnotes, and updated all of their retrieval dates to the present. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 15:49, 24 November 2014 (UTC)
- I can see that's going to be a nuisance for all sports articles. I think they're now all fixed except one: footnote 4 is still broken for me. - The AAU link is the official Sullivan Award website, and it appears that the whole website is down. I left the official AAU link on the assumption that it will start working again in the future. I have also added two additional New York Times footnotes that substantiate the factual assertions in those two sentences. - A comment: she set so many U.S. records that I don't think it's reasonable to ask that they all be mentioned in the text, and I understand it's going to be hard to source the non-metric ones well enough to come up with a complete table. I think this would be necessary for FA, though.
- Coming up with a comprehensive list of American swimming records is problematic because no one -- including USA Swimming and the ISHOF -- maintain a current online list of such records. I have reached out to both USA Swimming and the ISHOF to see if they can provide a PDF list or lists by email. These lists would be helpful not only for this particular article, but numerous others. - How about adding a mention of Amy in the personal life paragraph, sourced to footnote 3? She was a competitive swimmer and athlete too, and I think it's relevant family background.

- "In an international duel meet held in Austin, Texas in January 1984": unless I'm misreading it, the source says this is a 26-nation meet. I assume "duel" is a typo for "dual" here, meaning a two-nation meet?

- Everything looks good; passing GA. Just a note on the SI articles; I checked on footnote 4 and it appears that when the article is in multiple pages, the Wayback Machine only archives the page you give it to archive, so pages 2 and 3 are not available. In this case it doesn't matter because I think the first page sources what is needed from the article, but just FYI. Another nice swimming article.
