In sweden it isn't the national kennel council that makes rules for tracking trials (and the like), they only have obedience trials.

Tracking and trailing

edit

Search and rescue dog trainers make a distinction between tracking and trailing; is that the case also in tracking trials? --Una Smith (talk) 05:01, 1 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merging?

edit

This article lacks inline citation and in my opinion could be easily trasformed into a section in Tracking article? There was a suggestion for merging in 2011 but it never took place? Should I try? @Cavalryman (talk · contribs)? @William Harris (talk · contribs)? --LoraxJr 17:47, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hello LoraxJr, this article is only 3.5k in size, whereas Tracking (hunting) is 20k in size and is equally missing inline citations. I think that a merge would be a good idea. William Harris (talk) 21:23, 16 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
I am not sure this is a good idea, the Tracking (hunting) article is about humans interpreting animal spoor, something that predominantly non-western indigenous hunters do across the world, whilst this article is about a dog sport pretty much confined to the western world. I meant the article Tracking(dog) --LoraxJr 14:48, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Both of them are pretty small and lack sources and generally need improvement and cleaning. I just thought merging would be a good start for that... @Cavalryman (talk · contribs)? @William Harris (talk · contribs) LoraxJr 18:22, 18 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
I can see no reason why Tracking trial could not be merged into Tracking dog. William Harris (talk) 02:30, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Great! I thought the same. Will do it now, thanks! --LoraxJr 22:39, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
