Prado-based Gonow edit
Gonow GX6 and Troy have no connection with the Prado at all, other than a nose that resembles the Prado. From the A pillar back, these models are based on the old Isuzu D-Max. And as for Gonow GX6-2 model being produced in Germany, I don't think so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.187.58.77 (talk) 13:49, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
120 series dashboard cracking edit
There are many reports of cracked dashboard in Australia and the Philippines. Although there are some reports that Toyota is extending warranty or replacing dashboards in Australia, there is no official recall. Edzitor (talk) 07:31, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Engine Over Heating edit
I saw the dashbord section and thought you might want info along that line. The 3.0 brought in to Central America also is subject to overheating (at least in the third generation). The engines tend to wear out at 100,000 kilometers. I have only personal experience with some mechanic friends of mine. I have also been with my friends while they fixed engines that are worn out. The 3.0 they bring in down there I belive is the 94hp and it just doesn't have enough power for that big of an SUV. I figured this is about as relevant as the dashboards. This is the first time I've contributed to Wikipedia so please let me know if I did something stupid so I don't repeat it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 186.77.137.38 (talk) 22:46, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
New models ? edit

- Bad news, my crystal ball has a crack in it. So your guess is as good as ours. Stepho talk 05:49, 25 April 2015 (UTC)
Production start in lead infobox edit
The production field in the lead infobox states "1985-present" and has for some time, thereby including the "predecessor" J70 model listed in the article. If I'm interpreting it correctly, it was largely the same vehicle but before the Prado name was introduced for it.
It's apparently being called into question as to whether the lead infobox should include this or not. The Land Cruiser family model lineage isn't entirely clear to me, so I don't have a strong opinion at present. I'd lean towards keeping it at 1985, since the article covers that model. --Sable232 (talk) 15:26, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- Did a few minutes of research (nothing really deep) and found the following:
Both of these (please various summation web pages) seems to agree that the "Prado" name started in April 1990. I can't find anything for the name earlier than that - although I haven't searched very hard. Stepho talk 22:30, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- The start of the Prado name isn't what appears to be in question - it's that this article includes the 1985-1990 "pre-Prado" (for lack of a better term) iteration of the light-duty Land Cruiser. Should the lead infobox include that model and state 1985-present, or leave it out and state 1990-present? --Sable232 (talk) 01:09, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
