Note regarding the timeline

edit

Until Toyota releases a press release regarding the 2009 Corolla and whatever happens to the Matrix, DO NOT UPDATE THE TIMELINE BASED ON A RUMOR. Do NOT list the Auris or the Blade as the successor to the Matrix, either, until solid information is released BY TOYOTA'S PR DEPARTMENT, NOT "INSIDERS". — Butterfly0fdoom, 22:49, 25 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hybrid Auris

edit

The BBC have now changed the part of the report on their website that read 'The cash is to build a hybrid engine for its new Auris model' to say 'petrol engine'. The related video clip on the BBC site still ends with the reporter saying 'So hybrid cars seem to be the cars of the future and Toyota is on the crest of that wave' but the editing seems a little odd and I wonder if Toyota asked the BBC to play down the hybrid aspect. I think I'll leave the mention of a hybrid system for the present but it will be interesting to see what appears elsewhere. --Cavrdg 20:06, 26 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hybrid Auris Text

edit

On 26 February 2007, Toyota announced an investment of GBP 100 million in its Deeside engine factory to build a hybrid engine for the Auris.<ref>{{cite web | url = http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/wales/north_east/6397613.stm | title = Toyota £100m safeguards 700 jobs | last = [[BBC]] | accessdate = 2007-02-26 }}</ref>

I moved the above from the page since it is misleading. Hopefully things will change and we can move it back.

I've put the line back in but with petrol rather than hybrid, in line with the changed BBC report. There's still no mention on the TMUK site even of the Auris launch. --Cavrdg 10:42, 17 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
The TMUK site has now been updated with a new URL for the news section. There's not much in the way of further information in the relevantpress release but it does confirm that it will be a Toyota ZR engine. --Cavrdg 20:36, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Engine Upgrade

edit

1.4 Petrol engine is being upgraded to 1.33 Petrol engine with lower CO2 and BHP - More information needed —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.159.128.220 (talk) 16:05, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

There's some info here. It's rather disappointing - a Stop&Start system rather than a proper hybrid as in the Prius.--Cavrdg (talk) 20:57, 19 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Voice controlled bluetooth hands free system

edit

I just rented an Auris and discovered by a coincidence that it has a voice-controlled hands free system. The best I've yet to try. It's not only monologue-controlled, but allows dialogue when adding contacts, for instance, you are having a whole conversation with the car. Very good! Should this be mentioned? And perhaps linked to a separate article on the system itself? Bjern (talk) 11:02, 25 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Does anybody reckon it is worth explaining what on earth a D-4D is? 86.128.231.110 (talk) 14:21, 24 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Auris HSD Full Hybrid?

edit

Is it called "Auris HSD Full Hybrid" or just "Toyota Auris hybrid"? ---North wiki (talk) 02:01, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
