It's a subtype of vertical running. You have https://www.verticalworldcircuit.com governed by ISF which also organizes trail vertical races ( for example https://www.vkworldcircuit.com) and Towerrunning Tour by TWA.

Problem is that the article talks in general as if there is one world ch, one world tour. but there are 2 main umbrella associations: Towerrunning World Association and International Skyrunning Federation.
