Sweet Robots Against the Machine is the Artist

edit

I think it's worth noting that, according to the SRATM album sleeves, Towa Tei is not the artist cited on either of these albums according to the CD sleeves. Though he certainly has produced them, the first album appears intended to be a self-titled album by an artist known as Sweet Robots Against the Machine (obviously a pseudonym of Tei's) while the second album is clearly shown on the sleeve as having the title Towa Tei and being by the artist Sweet Robots Against the Machine. While one might at first assume this to be a typo, one can further note that the liner notes show "SRATM likes to thank" instead of Towa, the spine of the outer package that holds the CD has a logo for SRATM, and a website (which does not appear to exist any longer) is referenced, www.sratm.com, all indicating that the intended title is, indeed, Towa Tei while the intended artist is SRATM.

It's rather likely that Tei intended this "mix-up" as an intentional element of confusion, as if to "answer" the question posed by the first album: "If SRATM is by Towa Tei, why isn't his name on the CD as the artist?" This would explain the confusion between the supposed "first" and "second" releases of SRATM: They are entirely different albums by the artist SRATM.

I propose that both articles, Towa Tei and Sweet Robots Against the Machine, be rewritten to incorporate this element. Towa Tei has four albums: Future Listening!, Sound Museum, Last Century Modern, and Flash, while the artist SRATM has two albums, Sweet Robots Against the Machine (i.e. eponymous) and Towa Tei. While this may be a bit confusing, I think we should honor the artist's choices which are not merely typos.

Girlfriend

I read in Japanese magazine (as far as I understood that scribble) that his girlfriend is the shining newcomer Ayuse Kozue. That true? -andy 92.229.137.44 (talk) 05:52, 15 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Date of birth

edit

As per WP:DOB (a section of the WP:BLP policy) I have removed the uncited exact date of birth from the article. It should not be restored unless it is not only cited, but cited to a source or soures which make it clear that the date has been widely published, or else published with the subject's approval. This might be clear if the sources is itself notable and widely published, or if there are multiple reliable sources, or if the sources says or plainly implies that the date was published with the subject's consent, or in other ways. The day and month of birth of a living person are of little encyclopedic value, while making them public can contribute to identity theft and other problems. The year suffices to place the subject in chronological context. See WT:BLP#Dates of birth and info boxes for discussion. DES (talk) 23:03, 1 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
