Incidentally, the implication of the Handbook of Texas info suggesting that the Cowans arrived directly from Tennessee is incorrect; there are records of David and Gideon in Texas as early as 1846 — they were in what is now Williamson County, Texas and Burnet County, Texas as well, though they eventually settled in the Tow area. Don't suppose it belongs in the article, other than to modify the sentence to be more accurate. Lawikitejana12:13, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
