Name of event

edit

"Tour de l'Aude Cycliste Féminin" is the official name of the event and is the name used by the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) in its results and record keeping. Normally, howver, when the context of a women's race is clear, it is just referred to as the "Tour de l'Aude".

I have chosen the long form of the name to avoid confusion with the defunct men's event of the same (short) name, for which there is already a Wikipedia article (see Tour de l'Aude).

The title of this page is the long form of the official name of the event (though without the French acute 'e'). This is the name used by the organizers and by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI).

However, when the context of women's cycle racing is clear, the race is usually just referred to by the short name Tour de l'Aude.

The long form is used here to avoid confusion with another article under the name Tour de l'Aude which refers to a now defunct men's event.

Where is it?

edit

The article doesn't actually mention where in the world this Tour takes place. From the external link I presume it's in France, but is it in any particular place, and is it always in the same area? Thanks, Vclaw 13:24, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
