Hello Wikipedia challenge Hello Wikipedia talk -I user - David Douglas Bunker - strongly disagree with the rejection of recent information I have put up on the Touch Guitar Wikipedia site. I believe if you will check every link out to proof of fact/patents, you will find that they have shortchanged everyone in the real facts in the invention regarding Touch Guitars. I am 80 years old, I have known almost every person, including a lifetime with originators of Touch Guitar. My self and Emmett Chapman, originator of the Stick style tapping instruments are the only ones who have created something new. All others in the tapping field are only copiers of our original ideas, pioneered by us.

I will gladly change anything you feel is needed, but feel that the truth, and proper history of development should be stated here. My first patent, known by almost all in the Touch/Tapping world was patented as a Touching instrument in 1961, 40 years before Rueter or anyone else built intruments. Marcus Rueter is from Germany, his TM is not registered in America as he lets others assume, I know this because I as we speak a challenging our government regards this matter.

I believe sir that if you were to read and follow the links and information I have presented, "and I realize I have lots of work to do regards the materiel I have disclosed on the site" you would find that the materiel which I presented was proper and without reproach; I challenge the previously posted; now reposted materiel, it is very wrong!! Marcus Rueter who presented this has now invention, no history; I am the originator of the word "Touch Guitar" over many years, and the only musical instrument patented just for Touch/Tapping. The City of Seattle Historylink.org (Dave Bunker) and thousands of other links on the web verify this talk.

What I need to change I will, what everyone needs regards this is the real truth and nothing ; What I state her is the truth of a lifetime development of a great idea. I would ask you to please consider the real facts here and allow them to be told. I openly challenge anyone to dispute the facts I have presented. The information on "Touch Guitar" previously presented is totally wrong.

For context it looks as if User:David Douglas Bunker rewrote this article, had it reverted by User:Bgwhite with an edit summary of "Spam. Copyright violation videos can't be used." and decided to create a copy-paste WP:CONTENTFORK at Touch Guitars (possibly intending that the article be about Bunker's guitar alone?) that dropped all the references.

I'd flagged Touch Guitars for merging into Touch Guitar as it looked like it was trying to add some new content, but if it's just a copypaste of an earlier version of this article, I'll redirect it back here.

Somebody should assess the proposed content to see how much of it can be used. I'm afraid I don't have the time to at the moment. --McGeddon (talk) 08:54, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Terminology/splitting of entry

Since it seems that there's a lot of confusion here re terminology and accreditation, I suggest that it's time to split the Touch Guitar entry into three separate entries - one covering "touch guitar" as a generic touchstyle-playing instrument classification as used by players (including Sticks, Warr Guitars, Bunker guitars etc), one specifically covering David Bunker's instruments (since they have a name, an established US trademark and an established history) and one specifically covering Markus Reuter's instruments (since they have a name and an established German trademark). Each page could contain a disambiguation disclaimer and links to the other articles.

I think it's important that David Bunker gets his full and appropriate historical credit as an originator, as well as recognition as an ongoing instrument manufacturer with an established brand; but I also think it's important to recognise the broader use of the term "touch guitar" - as opposed to the trademarks - in a way that doesn't provoke indignation or edit wars. A prominent position for Mr Bunker in the generic "touch guitar" article should help with this, as well as maintaining a separate Touch Guitar entry specifically dedicated to his instruments. - Dann Chinn (talk) 11:53, 15 March 2019 (UTC)
