I was hoping Wikipedia would have information about Total Beverage in Colorado, one of the biggest liquor stores in this state (link https://www.totalbev.com/). However, the total Beverage page just redirects to an east coast company. I don't think this is right? At minimum, the page should not redirect to another (unrelated) company. There was an article for Total Beverage about 12 years ago. But as the discussion below shows, a decision was taken at WP:AFD to delete the page and subsume its contents into another article, the one that this redirect now goes to. It is unclear whether these are two separate companies. This will have to be looked into.  spintendo  23:44, 20 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

According to this diff the Total Beverage company (TB) was acquired by Total Wine and More (TWM) in 1998. This in turn led to the article being merged and this redirect page being created. This rests on the supposition that there was only one TB – the one in Maryland. But there may have been two TB's, one in Maryland (TB-MD) and one in Colorado (TB-CO). If this is true, there are two possibilities:

  1. TB's Wikipedia page in 2006 was for TB-MD, and it was merged with TWM when that company purchased TB-MD.
  2. TB's Wikipedia page was for TB-CO, and editors who agreed to the merge at the time were unaware of this, inadvertently merging TB-CO with TWM.

In any event, the article now is not TB-CO. Were TB-CO to have a Wikipedia page in the future, I believe that there would be grounds for deleting the redirect and letting TB-CO have the TB name.  spintendo  01:52, 21 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
