As per Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Plants#Classifications_for_extant_versus_extinct_plants, it's far from clear at present how to classify extinct plants. I'm currently working on articles in this area, and will seek comments and consensus at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Plants when I'm a bit clearer on the issues.
