Talk:Torshälla Church

Latest comment: 12 years ago by Hegvald

Torshälla Church is one of the tallest and oldest buildings in the county, usually featured in tourist guides for Torshälla, and has been the subject of archeological research due to its intimate connection with the origins and history of the town and the surrounding area. Furthermore, it has some historical paintings which are unique for Sweden. If any individual building in the town deserves a separate Wikipedia entry, this would be it. I have added independent references which should suffice to meet the notability requirement. --Hovastro (talk) 16:08, 12 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

I removed the tag. The notability is not seriously in question. However, you should really take a look at Robert Bennett's 103-page monograph (from 1981) on this church. I'm sure you can find it in a local library if you live in Torshälla, or else in any major library in Sweden. --Hegvald (talk) 04:41, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
I have seen that reference elsewhere but I don't live in Sweden, and haven't been able to track it down yet.--Hovastro (talk) 06:33, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
If you are willing to buy it, there are two used copies available at the moment at www.antikvariat.net (a common website/catalogue for antiquarian bookdealers in Scandinavia) for £10 and £12, respectively. (I checked the bookstore at Riksantikvarieämbetet, but they don't appear to have any left.) --Hegvald (talk) 16:27, 13 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
