WAY too much detailed history, especially recent, on the page

Theres way too much history on the main "Toronto Blue Jays" page and not on "The history of the Toronto Blue Jays" page, we don't need to have a fully two paragraphs of history for each season since the 2000s, no other sports team's page on wikipedia has even close to that much. I suggest we mesh years together, and make shorter recaps of the seasons, and move all the more detailed history over to the "History of" page. Only on important years, such as 1985,1992,1993,2015/16, etc, do we have a full section dedicated to one year. • Also, i'm not trying to knock the people who have worked hard on this page, it's outstanding work but i feel it's TOO much. The way the Leafs have their history written on their page is much better and easier to get the jist of a few years of history in a small amount of time. Leventio has done an amazing job at making the Leafs article a good article. Currently, of Toronto's professional North American sports teams, only the Toronto Blue Jays article is neither a Good Article nor a Featured Article (the Leafs, the Argos, and Toronto FC are good articles, and the Raptors article is featured). I mean, honestly, this article has the potential for GA-status (I mean, it has the content at least). That said history from 1995 to present needs to trimmed significantly (and 1977 to 2000 to a lesser degree). We could trim the section down by just retaining the key sentence(s) of each year past 2000, and move the removed content to History of the Toronto Blue Jays (pre-2000s too, but to a lesser degree). Other than that, the rest of the article looks alright. That said, a lot of the proses in this article do need a citations (shouldn't be too hard to do, just tedious). I have to agree on this. The main article indeed contains too much stuff about the history and Wikipedia already has a more detailed article about the history of the Blue Jays. Since it had been a few years since Ross Atkins became GM, I have lifted the restriction of having the history article restricted to before his hiring. Kind of odd to have the sentence there in the first place; there isn't a compelling reason to limit the history article artificially (recentism should just be dealt with as with any other article). Thanks for reverting it. isaacl (talk) 15:04, 16 November 2019 (UTC)

Personally, I think there simply shouldn't be a history page, and this is enough. This would be too short if it was lacking the history. People also only have to look for the Blue Jays page instead of another page. 173.166.14.37 (talk) 15:49, 16 April 2024 (UTC)

Team Logo Change for 2020

For the team logo, currently the article only includes the cap logo. After a quick look at other MLB team articles, it seems that in cases where the team's main logo and cap logo are identical, only the main logo is displayed, on a white base. With this in mind, I think the logo should be updated to a version on a white base, and in the "team logo" section of the article. Thoughts? Harrison401 (talk) 22:49, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Sahlen Field

Is someone going to update the first paragraph? The Blue Jays are not playing at TD Ballpark anymore and have officially moved back to Buffalo (Sahlen Field). I wanted to ask if the Jays Care Foundation arm of the organization should be mentioned on the page or if it should have its own page, since I noticed a discussion on the length of the current page a few comments up. Yes, the Jays Care Foundation should be mentioned in the Toronto Blue Jays article, but please keep the section brief and sourced, both from the Jays Care Foundation itself and from third-party sources not affiliated with the Jays Care Foundation. Semi-protected edit request on 2 October 2023

It says the Blue Jays made the playoffs via the wildcard in 2020 and 2022. They have also qualified via the wildcard in 2023 however that hasn't been updated as of yet. Iceman121982 (talk) 06:35, 2 October 2023 (UTC)
