Removed links: one dead, one containing less infomation than the entry.
Removed refence to Topeth as a gate of the valley because I couldn't find any verification or mention of this anywhere - but if there is any it should be added back in.
Removed material relating to Moloch because not specifically relevant to the entry. Will cross check Moloch entry and see if it needs to be added.

Both of these articles cover the same subject, with the exception that Tophet has more discussion of more pop-culture stuff and Topheth has more discussion of the term itself. We don't need both of them. Since "Tophet" is the more common term in English (though "Topheth" is the more scrupulously correct one), I propose to merge the useful contents of both to Tophet. I don't expect this to be a controversial move, but I'd like to hear from anyone who thinks otherwise. In the absence of objections, however, I'm likely to perform a merge fairly soon. — Gavia immer (talk) 20:11, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Absent any objections, I've gone ahead and done it. Note that the article could still use serious cleanup. — Gavia immer (talk) 14:45, 12 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Topheth is the common English spelling, and the article overwhelmingly uses it. I suggest a move. --IronMaidenRocks (talk) 15:28, 27 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

Why is a citation needed? Ample evidence is given in the literary footnotes. I have added one from a Wesley hymn C.jeynes (talk) 06:29, 6 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
It has been used as a poetic comparison or synonym, but it is not used as one in colloquial speech. The last thing we need on this page is for the list of hymns to return. I've removed the cit tag and clarified. --IronMaidenRocks (talk) 16:37, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I trimmed the fat from this article. This was literally the worst article I had ever seen. We can now use this article to bury Wikipedia authors who don't use sources and randomly cram theosophical text into articles. --IronMaidenRocks (talk) 15:25, 27 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
Completely agree. Even trimmed, the page continues to strike one as a place for apologism. The list of sources does not inspire confidence in the article's impartiality. Imperator Nox (talk) 18:31, 1 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
I removed the external links. If someone feels free to add them back as references rather than an external links section, feel free to do so. I removed one of the references to a non-noteworthy modern theological work which merely refereed to the term. --IronMaidenRocks (talk) 16:48, 6 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

I’m not sure this section is a great idea - wouldn’t we need to talk about the Tophet of Salammbo specifically? There are a lot of them and it will take a lot of space.—-Ermenrich (talk) 20:56, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
