Contested deletion edit

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because I have found a few sources and need some time to check if it's notable enough. (some possible sources include http://encycl.opentopia.com/term/Tomono_clan http://wiki.samurai-archives.com/index.php?title=Tomono_clan Sengoku Biographical Dictionary (Samurai-Archives.com) FWSeal & :CEWest, 2005)Cliff12345 (talk) 19:57, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for trying to help.
  • A. Please look closely at the small print below the main text at Opentopia.com. You will see that this is a Wikipedia mirror.
  • B. Was I wrong to believe that Samurai Archives is always considered unreliable?
Perhaps it is better to list this at WP:AfD? --Ansei (talk) 20:34, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
To be honest I'm not sure if it's a notable topic, but it seems like it may have a few sources so I want to see if a reasonable article can be made (though it may turn out that it should be deleted, I don't want to make any rash decisions). Cliff12345 (talk) 21:21, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
I've swapped the wiki link for a link to the proper Samurai Archives website. Cliff12345 (talk) 21:34, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sysiphus-like effort?
Yes, there is no need for hurrying .... However, this article -- and other articles on the list at Wikipedia:WikiProject Japan/Historical people -- have been questionable since they were first created some years ago. The brief explanatory sentences at the top of the WikiProject page were written by NihonJoe here.

In specific, a review of the history of Tomono clan shows that Tadakuni tried to bring it up to a minimal standard in 2008. In 2013, you can see that I have also tried to do the same. And now you propose to try as well. There is no undue speed in any of this; but after many hours spread out across five years, isn't it reasonable for us to agree that it's time for a decision. We need to act so that no more good intentions will be squandered in this Sysiphean mistake.

In contrast, please note the successes which are shown by "done+cites added" at WP:WikiProject Japan/Historical people. --Ansei (talk) 22:34, 2 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
