Someone marked a state head of one of the two major parties as non-notable? What? Also, he's made major media four times in 2013 alone. 174.62.68.53 (talk) 22:14, 17 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

You say “alone,” as if this is indicative of some larger trend, which it doesn’t seem to be. Plenty of people get their 15 minutes, and are never heard from again. —Wiki Wikardo 08:20, 21 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
The deletion for non-notability happened via a dubious Wikipedia mechanism "WP:PROD" - basically, some IP in South Carolina used a magic template to say this person might not be notable, nobody objected, and it got deleted. This was before the recent news but after his position in 2010. Wnt (talk) 14:25, 22 October 2013 (UTC)Reply
It's not a dubious mechanism at all. It's part of Wikipedia's normal process. You'll notice that someone again placed a PROD notice on the article and that this time it was removed as there was far more evidence of the person's notability. --GentlemanGhost (converse) 22:36, 28 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

New twitter account edit

It appears he has created a new Twitter account: https://twitter.com/Todd__Kincannon

Done as requested. Note that the littlegreenfootballs.com reference threw 403 error at me, and the rawstory.com reference failed to load, so I couldn't verify them. Zhaofeng Li [talk... contribs...] 01:58, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
rawstory.com reference added as requested. Zhaofeng Li [talk... contribs...] 02:02, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Very strange, they are loading just fine for me. DavidPatrick70 (talk) 02:11, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
DavidPatrick70, I'm finally able to view the littlegreenfootballs.com via a proxy (some Nationality Discrimination™ I suppose), and found out it's a user-submitted page. Self-published pages are not considered reliable sources and are not allowed on BLPs. Zhaofeng Li [talk... contribs...] 02:26, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
That's fine. There's also a Salon source now that popped up in Google News. Link: http://www.salon.com/2014/01/27/tea_party_troll_todd_kincannon_goes_on_misogynistic_anti_wendy_davis_twitter_rant/ if you can take a look! DavidPatrick70 (talk) 07:26, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 27 January 2014 edit

This page is filled with improper citations. By clicking on citations 2 through 5 I noticed each of those citations (which seemed HEAVILY biased descriptions in favor of Mr. Kincannon) does not link to any story of consequence. It seems like he set up those links himself with the citations going absolutely nowhere...

I am not a registered user yet, but it seemed like someone should review this page for its extensive errors and positively skewed description of Kincannon Deets123 (talk) 22:12, 27 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I concur with this but I'd have a hard time separating out the edits. It appears Kincannon himself was the account named "JQLibet" and may have made edits as IP addresses as well based on the history? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Todd_Kincannon&offset=&limit=500&action=history DavidPatrick70 (talk) 06:40, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
After further review, there's no way to verify it, since most of the articles are behind an archive paywall and are not reproduced anywhere else. DavidPatrick70 (talk) 06:50, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. — {{U|Technical 13}} (tec) 18:57, 15 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
Much more likely the JQLibet account belongs to Jared Q. Libet, employed at Kincannon’s firm. —Wiki Wikardo 08:14, 10 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Notable Person edit

Yes, I think he's a notable person. He's been all over the news a couple of times. Newspaper editors must've thought he was notable. I'm going to remove the not notable tag on this article. The person who put it there didn't bother to come to this Talk page and explain why he/she put it there. Chisme (talk) 15:49, 20 May 2014 (UTC) does he meet wp:blp standards? I really don't think so. -- Aunva6talk - contribs 15:54, 20 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I don't see what he does that makes him notable. Formerly he worked for the SC Repub Party until 2010. Since then he doesn't appear to be employed by them. His tweets are regularly offensive which has gained slight media attention, and that media attention seems to be the only thing that gives him significance. Douchebag? Yes, but still... edit

While I find many of the contributions to this moron's page hilarious, it may be necessary to give it a semi-protected status for a bit. Apparently this a-hole is making horrible comments about the shootings near UC Santa Barbara so he's likely going to be getting a lot more flak in the coming days. Neil618 (talk) 22:13, 26 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

it's been placed under pending changes protection. -- Aunva6talk - contribs 01:30, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

"Sexist" and "Homophobic" edit

These terms are both value judgements. Should Wikipedia be making value judgements like this? I don't think so. "Controversial" would be more appropriate. Ericcox (talk) 05:08, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

well, it depends on how they are used. if the use complies with WP:NPOV, WP:UNDUE and WP:BLP, it is not really a problem to use them.-- Aunva6talk - contribs 05:40, 27 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Before you nominate this article for deletion... edit

This article was nominated for deletion in May 2014 and again in October 2014. The consensus was to keep the article both times. If you would like to delete this article, please review why editors

And unless there is a compelling reason, please don't bother other editors by nominating it for deletion a third time. Thanks. Chisme (talk) 23:54, 20 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

My apologies for the 2nd one. When this article kept popping up on the Special:PendingChanges list, it raised a red flag for me. But now I understand why it should be kept. Regards, --SChotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy... (Talk) ☮ღ☺ 18:04, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Confirmation of twitter account edit

Thanks to Poe's Law it's impossible to distinguish between the actual nuts and a parody of them; given the truly absurd extremes in the twitter posts, are we sure that's actually his account? Note that in the screenshots linked as sources that it lacks the "verified" icon that Twitter has for accounts confirmed to belong to the public figures they purport to be. Given where I originally heard the name it doesn't surprise me if he really did make the comments in question, but the source raises questions of authenticity vs parody.— Preceding unsigned comment added by SporkWitch (talkcontribs)

The article cites secondary reliable journalistic sources, and no counter sources have been presented that indicate that @Todd_Kincannon is not the official account. Ian.thomson (talk) 17:19, 24 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Kincannon arrested, hospitalized edit

I'll just leave this here (no time to add it right now, if someone gets to it before I do, that's fine).

Added a section for this. Le dragon (talk)
