About the colon

edit

See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks).

  • "Avoid using special characters that are not pronounced, are included purely for decoration". Using -hyphons- or ~tildes~ falls under this category. It is a non-standard practice for subtitles. The proper English format is the use of a colon.
  • Also, what is official is not what is right. Kiss (band) lost that fight. It's officially 'KISS'.

So the use of tildes and hyphons in subtitles needs to phased out.--SeizureDog 05:48, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
