per WP:COMMONWP:ENGLISH. This isn't even a contest. Tingis is by far the common English name for ancient Tangier, among the hoi polloi and amongscholars. It was also the general Greek and Latin name of the place, which is the WP:TOPIC of this article. There was a period of independent Berber rule but it was brief, little attested, and not the specific subject of this article. — LlywelynII 15:10, 7 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
