This is a timeline. How can a timeline be biassed ? No argument, no POV. If some events are deliberately left out, these can be added. If some events are manufacturated, these can be cleared out. It was very easy problem. There was no place named Turkey at that period. This timeline was written with the point of view of some group in the Republic of Turkey. So I agree with you. Here is English wikipedia, neither wikipedia of the Republic of Turkey nor wikipedia of Turkish nationalists. Most of Turkish users of wikipedia don't want to make here wikipedia of Turkish nationalis and try to write neutrallypossible. But most of them write with nationalist discours unconsciously. Name of the article

The name of this article has been moved from Timeline of the Seljuks of Turkey to Timeline of the Sultanate of Rûm. It is claimed that the name of the Turkish state in Anatolia in the 11-13rd century was Sultanate of Roum. Actually Sultanate of Roum was one of many names given to that state. Seljuks of Turkey, Seljuks of Anatolia, Seljuk Sultanate of Asia Minor, Sultanate of Iconium (Konya) or just Seljuks (after the collapse of the Great Seljuk Empire in the East) were among the other names.For Moslem people of the middle ages Rûm meant the Territory of the Roman Empire and thus Sultanate of Roum means the state founded on the former territories of Roman Empire. But actual name of the people was Seljuk Turks. Britannica calls the state as Seljuk Sultanate of Asia Minor or Seljuks of Anatolia New Worldbook name the state as Seljuk Turks The Cambridge University calls the state as Turkish Muslim Seljuks of Anatolia

We are not taking popularity polls. In internet all kinds of absurd (together with serious) essays appear. So I don’t think the number of hits convey anything. I ‘ve shown above a number of dependable sources (like Britannicca and Cambridge). Although I don’t deny the usage of Sultanate of Rum, I insist the priority should be given to names in which at least the name of the dynasty (and/or people) is included. Because while Rum refers to former capital of the former empire, Turk refers to people and Seljuk refers to dynasty. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 06:40, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
