Statistics section edit
The Statistics section of the article still seems to be weighing it down. Should I put in a separate section? Would a good title be Statistics of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia? There doesn't really seem to be a precedent for such an article. Any advice? Andykatib 09:12, June 19, 2020 (UTC)

- Sorry for not checking in Talk page before performing the migration. I have migrated the whole section to it's own page because I found that editing this page is getting harder and harder due to it's size. Chart edit
The daily cases should be 15 and recoveries should be 7 (21 july). But when i edit it the chart isn't appearing (error?) Contiball (talk) 10:29, 21 July 2020 (UTC)
Trimming the article edit
To keep the article at a readable length, it will need trimming particularly the Timeline section. The earlier months could probably be condensed. Any suggestions? Andykatib 10:46, 10 August, 2020 (UTC)
- The prose is currently 60 kB, which is at the maximum limits of the wp:size guidelines but not unusually egregious. What do you mean by the Timeline section? The article is about the Timeline. CMD (talk) 10:51, 10 August 2020 (UTC)
- Probably, to make the early part of the timeline less dense and more concise. I think the article will continue to grow as long as the COVID-19 pandemic is still around. Hopefully, it will start to decline by next year, God willing. Andykatib 10:46, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- For each month, we could convert all the sentences that currently say "On DATE, the Director-General reported A new cases, bringing the total number of cases to B. There are currently C cases, with D in intensive care and E on ventilator support. F have recovered, bringing the total number of recovered to G. The death toll remains at H", and convert them into a table with
DATE | New cases | Recovered cases | Current cases | Intensive care | On ventilator)| Total recovered | Total cases. Then there can either be a notes column to handle other information, or other information is simply kept as text while mentioning dates that can be cross-referenced with the table. - @Andykatib: please see here as an example. Another advantage of this format is it shows what information is missing from the current text. It's a big table, but I think it is better than a separate sentence for each date, and the remaining text is much shorter. CMD (talk) 15:35, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Away between 25-28 Nov edit
Hi there. I'll be out of Auckland attending a conference in Tauranga between 25 and 27 November. Will be back on the 28 of November. Might try and do some work on a public library computer or my iPad but may not have regular Internet access on a device with a wide screen and features. Feel free to continue the daily updates in my absence. I also update the Malaysian details for the Timeline of the COVID-19 pandemic in November 2020 and COVID-19 pandemic in Asia articles. I usually use either The Star, Malay Mail and sometimes Free Malaysia Today. For the COVID-19 pandemic in Asia, I use the Ministry of Health's COVID website.
