"1785 - Richard Crosbie makes several unsuccessful attempts to cross the Irish Channel in a helium-filled balloon." Considering helium wasn't discovered until 1868 and wasn't isolated chemically until 1895, I _don't_ think this is likely. Hydrogen, perhaps? Source material would help. Possible False Citation

The entry for 1780 indicates that the USAF was founded during the American Revolution, and the citation merely reads "D. J. Trump." However, President Trump had misspoken when he said those words, so I'm not sure why they are shown here as if they were fact.ArmageddonAviation (talk) 12:00, 30 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
