TWA 800 edit

I removed this line: "* TWA Flight 800 Boeing 747-131 exploded and crashed on July 17, 1996 killing all 230 persons on board. After speculation of a terrorist attack, the FBI announced that no evidence had been found of a criminal act, and the NTSB conclusion was that the probable cause was fuel/air vapors in a fuel tank." -- this wasn't a bombing, and including it in the list is misleading, IMHO. May 2017 copyedit edit

Removed the 1956–1960 Greek Cypriot EOKA bombing campaign against British rule in Cyprus which "leads to destruction of aircraft." The destruction of aircraft on the ground with no related casualties does not seem relevant or notable for inclusion on this list, there is no related article, it's unsourced, and there isn't even mention of it in the EOKA article.

On consideration, I decided to retain the failed plots, since they are notable and fit in the history of the subject. I also included some hijackings-by-bomb; when the bomb goes off, these seem fairly indistinguishable from suicide-bombings. – Reidgreg (talk) 17:38, 26 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Dawsons field bombing edit

Please add info here about the Dawson's Field hijacking which ended in the bombing of aircraft on the ground in 1970.

This is because the list includes aircraft attacks in connection with hijackings, those which were committed with explosives, and bombings of empty or grounded aircraft. It is acknowledged here that the Dawson's Field incident was not a mid air bombing and that the explosives may not have been an IED. Thomas Anneinde (talk) 12:18, 19 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
