Educational Assignment edit

Hi everyone! I will be editing this article as part of a Science Communication module in the Biological Science degree in Imperial College London. As I decide on the areas I wish to edit or include in the page, I will update the ideas here; please feel free to give any comments or suggestions on things that would be helpful to include. Thanks! For a start, these are the objectives I have in mind for this article; more may surface as I read deeper into the topic.

  • A revision of the lead section to make it more accessible as a summary
  • The inclusion of the following sections: 1. History, 2. Nomenclature and classification, 3. Features, 4. Replication, partitioning and maintenance and 5. Uses in bioengineering.

Hi! As an additional note, if time permits, I also intend to add a table of the commonly used Ti plasmids, sorted according to their opine types, within the "Nomenclature and classification" section. My thinking is that anyone who is looking for more specialist information or examples of primary work may find them easily referenced this way. Jaywteehee (talk) 10:34, 8 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi everyone! I've made substantial edits to the article since the start of this project; I hope it has been useful so far. Moving forward till the end of the project, I aim to add the table of commonly used Ti plasmids mentioned in the earlier talk comment, as well as two figures: one in the historical discovery section which basically summarizes the whole section, and a second possible diagram for the transfer apparatus section. Finally, I will definitely add a final section on the uses of Ti plasmids in bioengineering. Again, if you have any comments, please feel free to highlight them! Thanks! Hi! I have added a section of the use of Ti plasmids in bioengineering. As there are other wikipedia pages that already have detailed information, that section is meant to be a brief summary rather than an extensive review. Additionally, I will no longer be adding more diagrams to this article, as there are already excellent diagrams elsewhere, which unfortunately cannot be reproduced here without plagiarism. This is likely the last major edit I have for the article. I hope this has been helpful to anyone using this resource! Jaywteehee (talk) 16:34, 15 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Virulence region edit

Greetings all. I added the section on the vir region but I'm not sure how to properly reference.. could someone possibly clean it up for me?

Otherwise I'll come back when I have time and fix it properly. Thanks. dmartin25 —Preceding undated comment added 11:55, 14 October 2009 (UTC).Reply
