Talk:Tiʻitiʻi

I don't understand this article. Is Ti'iti'i or Mafui’e the equivalent of Māui, or are all three separate? In any event it really needs rewording. KarlM 18:52, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Good point - the confusion was carried over from Tregear, but became more evident once this article was separated as a stand-alone. Have reworded somewhat. Kahuroa 19:17, 13 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I still don't understand the meaning of this article at all. What is the relationship between "Ti'iti'i" and "Māui"? I think something is wrong with the article. --さえぼー (talk) 04:06, 18 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Their legends are extremely similar, so it's assumed that Ti'iti'i and Māui are equivalent (however, Mafui’e is a different character in the legends). In addition, in Hawai'ian myths, he is referred to as "Maui-ki'i-ki'i", which combines both names. I've reworded it to try to make it clearer.Wasechun tashunka (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 21:26, 30 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Merge? edit

Any thoughts on merging with all the other cultural articles on Maui? I think together they can all make a really good article on Maui, giving he is one of the few characters found throughout all Polynesia. This info would then become a section of the larger one, but I feel it would defiantly create an excellent and informative article on a pan-Polynesian character.
