Perhaps information about it being a hit single or where it topped the charts?--risingpower 02:18, 7 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

Guitar Rifts edit

I think we should put information about Angus's main guitar rifts in there —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Slash's snakepit (talkcontribs) 22:07, March 31, 2006 (UTC)

One Hand? edit

Actually, he has said in an interview (If I had the link still I would give it to you) that he doesn't actually use one hand to play the riff, but he picks every note individually. --risingpower 21:41, 6 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, just hear it, one can hear the pick. He does the one hand tapping in the live version only. nihil 19:26, 27 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

actually if you watch AC/DC live, Angus picks the rift, look for a live performance of thunderstruck and watch angus (and by live i do not mean the music video)Slash's snakepit 02:46, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Look up any video on YouTube if you have to, when Angus demonstrates the solo or plays it live, it's with both hands. 06:39, 25 March 2007 (UTC)Chaide

Umm on AC/DC Live at Donnignton he plays about half of it with one hand, then after a while he starts to pick every note so shouldnt it say that he "Usually" uses both hands, but during live performances he sometimes uses only one hand?Tubyboulin 21:07, 4 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

While, the studio recording may be a picked riff, saying he full out never plays it one handed, is very ignorant. I have seen the man play live and have seen several videos, he pulls off the intro, most of the time. BBFootBallr54 (talk) 04:53, 13 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

I can actually play the main riff on guitar near perfectly. It uses continuous hammer on, flick off technique up and down one string. It CAN be played entirely with the left hand, and playing it with two actually makes each note more distinguishable, and so the riff sounds slightly different. On the recorded version, i am near certain that only one hand is used. It is however useful to keep the picking hand nearby the string in case you miss a note, this allows you to strum a note that would otherwise not be present, and keep the riff running smoothly. This is likely what Angus is seen doing on those live tracks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.98.100.85 (talk) 02:42, 23 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:ACDC The Razors Edge.JPG edit

I found Image:ACDC The Razors Edge.JPG and noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. Someone will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If it was obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If there are other files on this page, consider checking that they have specified their source and are tagged properly, too. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Fair use rationale for Image:ACDC The Razors Edge.JPG edit

Image:ACDC The Razors Edge.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 04:29, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Clean this article up edit

There is way too much irrelevant information, at least how it is appears now. The paragraph is long and runs on, and the references at the bottom aren't presented properly.

Alternate Uses edit

Along with the bulls, bears, and white sox, the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League also uses the song throughout their home games —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.125.29.245 (talk) 07:26, 17 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Some issues edit

This article has become a long list of where the song has been used and it's difficult to read and I don't see the relevance of a massive list. I believe that it should be removed, however this should first be discussed. That the song is used widely is not in doubt, however this is just a massive list now. I have readded the picture of the t-shirt in the video shoot as no justification was given for it's removal. If it is not appropriate for whatever reason then please discuss this on the talk page before removing. If someone feels that it can be situated better within the article I see no problem with that.--Gingerzilla (talk) 18:55, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

I actually deleted the references to high school teams using it as their intro/opening song because I believe if we included all high school teams that used this song the list would be endless. It was probably added by someone from that school looking for recognition. ~SkeezaPleez~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by SkeezaPleez (talkcontribs) 19:17, 22 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

DELETED TRIVIA edit

The video edit

The music video that this article links to is only available in certain countries. Should it be removed? Ferdia O'Brien (T)/(C) 17:58, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cleanup Required edit

This article is very poor and contains far too much unsourced trivia. The bulk of it can be removed or needs major alterations: The you tube video - I don’t see the relevance of this nor the number of hits. The song has been out since 1990, it’s not recent so this is best left. It’s not exactly an internet phenomenon . Suggest this line is deleted and the link moved to external links. 'Uses in Pop Culture' which has no relevance to the song (and even admits it) - this should be deleted. Other Usage - this is frankly boring. Does anyone care that some team or player etc uses this when the score come on the field? It is useless trivia and does not add to the article. I've heard it countless times at games etc myself but it's not relevant. I think the list should be removed, but would welcome a debate first rather than the list cpontinually growing. Much of the other parts can be made into a section on cover versions (like the Hinder one) or remixes and usage in commercials/films can be added into a single sentence (i.e. the song has been widely used in commercials/films for...) with references. I’d suggest a much more selective list for this however. If anyone knows a good song article (with an excellent rating) that is used at sports games or in commercials then we should use that as an example and amend the article accordingly. --Gingerzilla (talk) 17:38, 27 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, this is CLEARLY vandalism from an IP but seriously, for those of you who love this song with a passion, you will like this comment. What an epic song!! You've been Thunderstruck!! AndrewEnns (talk) 05:58, 27 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Part of cyber attack edit

From http://politics.slashdot.org/story/12/07/24/1427203/f-secure-report-another-scada-attack-in-iran-this-time-with-acdc This song was apparently part of a cyber attack against Iran. I'm not sure if this trivia is worthy of inclusion in the article or not. Kevink707 (talk) 15:53, 24 July 2012 (UTC)Reply

Moneytalks was the 1st single. edit

In the US, Moneytalks was released as the 1st single, then Thunderstruck was released as the follow-up. (Thunderstruck was the more popular song, though)-ES2602:306:CD9B:E9A0:7CCD:2515:7AAE:1C22 (talk) 02:45, 25 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Key signature edit

The main riff, in the beginning, that is certainly B Mixolydian. The rest of the song would technically be B Dorian because of D naturals. In the start, there is a B major triad, which is not possible in any main mode in E minor, and then there is an E minor in first inversion. G natural hardly comes back after the main riff starts. From what I've noticed, the key does change to E minor for a short bit in certain spots, then back to B. Suggesting that the song is only in E minor doesn't sit right with me
