Accuracy edit

  • I have been told this bio is somewhat inaccurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by WillC (talkcontribs) 21:18, 25 August 2005

It was, in several respects. The mention of eight children was from a tour guide, It turns out that five of them belonged to his brother, who now has his own article. I've expanded this article as well, and hope that the result is more satisfactory. Lou I 20:29, 15 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

Citations would help a bunch. Toddstreat1 11:16, 2 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

President of Congress edit

While Thomas Stone is described as President of Congress in 1784, there not listed in the article President of the Continental Congress. Which is correct? or the other Congress? --Ryuhaku 11:32, 24 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

[H]e brought in his younger brother Michael to manage development of the plantation, which utilized slaves for generations.

A transparently crude insertion of an irrelevant slavery-mention (as on so many other wiki pages), to justify inclusion in the 'American slave owners' category. Maryland was a slave state, so naturally a long-established plantation would have used slaves. I feel that this category should be restricted to people whose slave-owning history is notable in itself. Valetude (talk) 15:38, 12 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
