Reliable sources edit

The external link cites coverage of the DSM by the London Gazette of 14 August 1945, followed the following month by the Canada Gazette of 15 September 1945; these do not seem to be available online, but should be independently verified and may then be included. Subject may meet WP:SOLDIER #5. Played an important role in a significant military event; or... As the UK copyright goes to 50 years (?), WP accesses the content at Wikipedia:London Gazette Index/19/1945#August, which should have the award listing near the end of the 14th pages, but they shut down my browser. The award citation may need to be cited or reproduced in full to demonstate the subject's pivotal role. (partial copy from my later post at the help page). I have added a citation (it doesnt need to be 50 years old as long as it is no more than 250 words) but it does indicate a multiple award of the medal to sailors on different ships realted to anti-u-boat operations, so it really needs more information that he as an individual played an important role in U-boat warfare. How can a photograph be added to the article? I have two photos of the DSM medal ceremony to add but I do not know how to do it. My e-mail is ronaldsimpson@alumni.uwo.ca. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ThomasJosephSimpson.D.S.M (talkcontribs) 14:51, 18 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Have a look at Wikipedia:Upload which explains what to do. MilborneOne (talk) 00:17, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I added the photo/file however now I can see it on the page. I attached the reference for the photo. The photo is an official photograph. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ThomasJosephSimpson.D.S.M (talkcontribs) 09:30, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
