Auckland Provincial Council

edit

The NZETC reference wrongly claims that Forsaith had been a member of the Auckland Provincial Council. Scholefield (1950) doesn't list him as a member, and that reference is way more reliable than the Encyclopedia from 1902. Rather, he had been elected to the Legislative Council of the New Ulster Province in 1852. That body never met after that election, as the events resulting from the 1852 Constitution Act overtook everything and the 1st New Zealand Parliament was elected instead a year later.
