What's the point of the article, in fact? Since the tour won't happen, it's non-notable. Just a bunch of business arrangements to be settled. Not encyclopedic. So tagged. Piano non troppo (talk) 05:40, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Considering the circumstances, this article is very notable as it would have been the last tour of michael jackson, and it wasn't as if the developments were ongoing, everything was completed except for the actual realization of the performances. There is enough info here and more to come in order to speak of concert ticket sales, set lists, visual components, background and conception, and financial matters. The fact that he died before it was realized is absolutely irrelevant; there are many other comleted tour articles that don't even come close to this one in quality, which could easily pass GA once a few details are sorted. The death of michael jackson and michael jackson's this is it are the only articles where this one can be merged and all of the information here does not really apply there. The former is already sufficient in length and the latter is about the production of a film; all of the business matters of the tour and other subjects cannot all be mentioned there. I don't think anybody can question it's notability. It is the most anticipated comeback of all time, and set various world records for speed and volume of ticket sales. Something like a million tickets sold in one day. At the very least it is a record for the venue for most consecutive sell-outs.

Concert Details

Jackson once singed and danced in Stimulated Inc.'s studio for 2D and 3D footages for the backgorund Chaos LED screen to be set onstage behind him and for the already discussed Dome Project. The Dome Project would consist seven works: Smooth Criminal (Jackson inserted into classic 2D black-and-white film noir chase sequence); Thriller (3-D movie starting in a haunted house with a ghostly image of Vincent Price, then moving into a graveyard where the dead awaken); Earth Song (3D short film featuring little girl who wanders through rain forest, takes a nap and dreams of the splendor of nature, and awakens to find the natural world has been devastated); They Don't Care About Us (a/k/a Drill, 2D film in which a sea of soldiers march in unison; 10 male dancers replicated hundreds of times); MJ Air (3-D movie in which a 707 jet pulls into the frame; hole was to open in screen for Michael Jackson to enter; jet flies away); The Final Message (3-D movie of little girl from rain forest embracing the earth); and The Way You Make Me Feel (2D theatrical background featuring male dancers fashioned as historical construction workers).

AEG despite their previous statements does not have so many footages, but most of them are from the June 23 - 24 rehearsals.

Other video sequences for the backgorund Chaos LED screen to be set onstage behind him would include the followings: Flashes and Glimpses (historical timeline of last century in 90 seconds); Startin' Somethin' (animation with letters MJ and words This Is It); Jackson 5 Medley (graphic animation featuring Jackson 5 logo); I Just Can't Stop Loving You (animation of a baroque hall of mirrors); Dangerous (graphic animation replicating brainwaves); Dirty Diana (graphic animation replicating fire); We are the World (graphic animation containing religious icons); and Heal the World (stock footage of children).

AEG furthermore owns over 1.000 color, digital photos taken on May 6 and June 22 - 23.

Jackson was feeling under the weather and went back to his home the LA where he was looked over by Doc merry where he was put on meds, and lather died.

Rename?

It shouldn't be renamed because it wasn't actually a tour, as a tour implies that he would have been moving to multiple venues. It is infact a concert series performed at one venue, something that is uncommon in N.America but is normal in many European countries. GreekStar12 (talk) 10:10, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

I have cleaned this up and removed almost all trace of the incorrect word "tour". It now only appears as part of the infobox template, and when talking about other tours such as HIStory. Line removal

The following bit from the article should be removed as it has nothing to do with the actual topic of the article.

However, on October 20, an Irish choir revealed that they had what could be the star's last studio recording — an off the cuff version of the famine song The Fields of Athenry recorded when he was in Ireland in 2006. The village choir from Caherraggin in Westmeath, Ireland were using the song as a choral warm-up when he joined in and sang six verses. Setlists and dates

1) Since the article indicates possibly more than 20 setlists to be used during the "Tour", I don't think posting any one set list here would make sense. There is no "single" setlist for a tour with a rotating list.

2) Do people think the list of dates is necessary? The tour won't happen now, the dates don't add particular value, as long as the article still says "the shows were to run with 27 shows from July 13 until September 29, 2009, and then resume with 23 shows from January 7 until March 6, 2010." Perhaps with an addition that "Shows would have mostly taken place two days apart, with a few larger gaps between some shows." (33 of the 49 gaps between concerts are 2 day gaps. 5 are three-day, 3 are four-day, 5 are five-day, and there's a seven-day, eleven-day and the three-month gap) if people think the frequency of the shows is important. I really don't think pinpointing the date of the 32nd concert or knowing whether he would have played on August 12 is a significant point of information for readers. Illusionists?

It's very well documented that Jackson was working with David Copperfield on magic tricks for the show, but then dropped him when he wanted $1m per show. Status as a "residency"

To EscapeX - please stop with your edit war of adding categories such as 2009 concert tours. PLEASE understand that this page is not about a tour. As has been explained to you several times before, a concert tour is by definition something that moves from city to city, and plays in different arenas. "This Is It" did not do that, therefore it is not a tour, and so we should not add categories saying that it is one. The same thing applies with your insistance on using a table layout with columns for City/Country/Venue.
