formula incomplete

edit

The general formula given for thiosilicate anions is incomplete. However, I'm not sure what exactly is missing. I guess it was supposed to mean (SiS2)*(S2-)n but there are more possibilities. Given that in the parent compound SiS2 the silicon-sulfur tetrahedra are all connected via edges, I would expect this also to be the case in most thiosilicates, leading to a formula (SiS44-)*(SiS2)n or SinS(2n+2)4-. However, as the example of an oxo-thiosilicate shows, corner-shared arrangements seem to be possible as well. If two Si-S tetrahedra shared their faces, an anion Si2S52- would result. --2003:E7:772A:E649:F43F:7BE1:BEEC:AC9D (talk) 02:21, 21 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
