Talk:Theoretical foundations of evolutionary psychology

Lead sentence edit

The first sentence in the lead should say what the article is about. This article's title includes two concepts (theoretical foundations and evolutionary psychology) both of which need to be defined for the reader before launching into secondary issues such as Charles Darwin. The current lead sentence would be fine in a follow up paragraph after the topic has been defined. See WP:BEGINNING (as well as the rest of WP:LEAD and WP:MOSINTRO. Good point. I think readers can be trusted to understand what "theoretical foundations" are, but "evolutionary psychology" could use a definition. Leadwind (talk) 02:37, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I think you'll find it necessary to paraphrase "theoretical foundations" in any case to avoid being redundant. Jojalozzo 03:00, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Here's what I wrote: "The theoretical foundations of evolutionary psychology are the general and specific scientific theories that explain the ultimate origins of psychological traits in terms of evolution." It sure is a lot better than the previous first sentence I had. Leadwind (talk) 14:10, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Much improved. Good work! Jojalozzo 15:21, 31 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
