Hello. I will have the review shortly. Thank you. — The Most Comfortable Chair 16:27, 1 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Lead edit

  • "Theodore was a sailor and privateer on board the ship Charles II, captained by a man by the name Charles Gibson" — "by a man by the name" seems a little redundant. Wouldn't it be more focused to write it as "Theodore was a sailor and privateer on board the ship Charles II, captained by Charles Gibson" or "Theodore was a sailor and privateer on board the ship Charles II, captained by a Charles Gibson"?
Yeah, I agree. removed "a man by the name". Ichthyovenator (talk) 12:23, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Biography edit

  • "A 1685 map of Barbados identifies a plantation near St John's church as the "Paleologus and Beal" plantation, indicating that Ferdinand's former plantation had probably been split by Theodore and Rebecca and that Theodore was now the business partner of Rebecca's new husband, probably Captain Alexander Beale, recorded in the census papers of 1679 as owning 111 acres of land and 70 slaves." — It is a bit too lengthy. Perhaps it could be split into two sentences.
Split it into three sentences. Ichthyovenator (talk) 12:23, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "Theodore made a will on 1 August 1693, appointing as his executor "Martha Paleologua", his wife." — Perhaps this would flow better → "Theodore made a will on 1 August 1693, appointing his wife, "Martha Paleologua" as his executor."
Changed to your suggestion. Ichthyovenator (talk) 12:23, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "Charles II" should be linked when first mentioned (in line with the lead) instead of linking "Fancy" since the mutiny and renaming occurred after his death — hence a less relevant detail.
Done. Ichthyovenator (talk) 12:23, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • "He died at sea that same year, near A Coruña in Spain, and was buried at A Coruña shortly thereafter under the name Theodorus Palaeologey." — Avoid writing "A Coruña" twice in the same sentence.
Removed the first one. Ichthyovenator (talk) 12:23, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Miscellaneous edit

  • Minor point, but the article is listed in only three categories and a subject like this should have a lot many entries.
I'm not that good with categories but I've added three more. If there are any you feel are missing you're of course free to add more as well. Ichthyovenator (talk) 12:23, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

That will be all for now. The article is compact and very well-written, and it should pass. Thank you. — The Most Comfortable Chair 11:03, 2 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
