Did you know... that Tory Member of Parliament Admiral Theobald Jones(1790–1868) laid the foundation of Irish lichenology?
The article does indeed have a lot of links to other articles, but that's because of the material involved. There are three separate strands to this man's life -- navy, parliament and lichenology -- each of which intersects with a lot of other topics. Plus there is his family, who were B-grade members of the Anglo-Irish oligarchy for over 150 years, and who intersect in several ways with Theobald's career.
