Move to 007: The World Is Not Enough edit

I would like to suggest a move to 007: The World Is Not Enough as that seems to be the official title. Suggestions or opinions?--analoguedragon 20:17, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

This is not the title of the game. It is The World Is Not Enough. Where have you seen it listed as 007: The World Is Not Enough ?? K1Bond007 20:56, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
[1] and the packaging [2] [3]. However, I've looked into this a little more and I've also seen a lot of places that refer to it simply as The World Is Not Enough so I think we should leave like this for now.--analoguedragon 22:22, 17 October 2005 (UTC)Reply
It could also be The World Is Not Enough 007, in keeping with GoldenEye 007.--Codenamecuckoo 09:18, 4 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
RetroCollect website also lists it with the "007" prefix - which honestly makes sense, as it's a game from the "007"/bond franchise. When I saw the name "The World Is Not Enough" in the List of home console video games not available on PC page, I had to click the article to figure out it's a Bond game, and at the first glancy only by looking at the image. It would be handy to have it with the prefix included, but that's just my two cents. Faalagorn/ 14:21, 7 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Semi-success edit

The game was a million seller, so 'semi-success' is hardly accurate. The stuff about Perfect Dark seems a bit irrelevant. Shouldn't this all be removed?

No it didn't sell a million. See List of best selling video games. K1Bond007 23:45, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Actually checking my info again, the sales as of Dec 2002 were around 950,000 in the US alone.

NPD spreadsheets.
I'm going to remove the 'semi-success' and the Perfect Dark stuff unless someone can give a good reason why they should stay.

A Question edit

In the game, it's possible to shoot dead M and Moneypenny. Quite drastic I say. Is this normal for games of this type? Noteable? Oh well. Lots42 (talk) 23:05, 5 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Theres a lot of games that allow you to shoot allies, the GTA series for example. But you still fail the mission if you do! The C of E. God Save The Queen! (talk) 14:02, 6 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

VC? edit

Where has it been said that it's speculated that TWINE will be released on Virtual Console in the next two years? I could understand the reasoning since Goldeneye won't be released, but I haven't seen anything officially stating it. Speculation doesn't belong on Wikipedia. If no sources are provided in a week or so, I'm removing the section. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.235.253.202 (talk) 08:20, 5 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Review edit

General
  • Since this isn't a current game, outside the gameplay section, I think the prose outside any direct quotes needs to switch from present to past-tense.
I kept the present tense outside direct quotes to make it consistent with the tense inside quotes. For example, in the following sentence: Edge concluded that, while the game lacks innovative elements, it "still offers plenty of enjoyment for those who have eshausted Rare's masterpieces." - If I replace "lacks" with "lacked", then the whole sentence won't sound right in my ears. Besides, as the game still exists, it still lacks and offers these features according to the reviewer. Can you be a bit more specific on where you think the tense needs to be changed? Thanks --Niwi3 (talk) 21:01, 20 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Infobox
  • The European release date isn't mentioned elsewhere in the article, and isn't cited in the lead.
Added it at the end of the development section --Niwi3 (talk) 21:01, 20 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Lead
  • but a Controller Pak is required to save the player's progress through the single-player compain. - It's "campaign". I read it as "single-player complain" for a second.
Fixed --Niwi3 (talk) 21:01, 20 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
Development
  • According to Eurocom, "[we] don't think we could push it much more than we have." - The fullstop should come after the quote, not within it as it's not a full sentance.
Fixed --Niwi3 (talk) 21:01, 20 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Electronic Arts secured a "Teen" rating from the ESRB because they felt that fast action and memorable spy moments were what the Bond legacy had always stood for.[12] - So they were consciously avoiding bloody/gratuitous/disturbing elements, or what? Not everyone reading this will know what the ESRB "Teen" rating entails.
Expanded the sentence with "to avoid intense portrayals of violence" --Niwi3 (talk) 21:01, 20 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

On the whole, the article seems sound, aside from the points I've mentioned above. Once all these are addressed or explained, I'll be happy to give this article the thumbs-up. --ProtoDrake (talk) 13:00, 18 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the late reply as I have been quite busy this week. Thank you for your time and review, really appreciated. I think I have addressed most of the issues you have listed above and left a comment regarding your first point. Please let me know what you think. --Niwi3 (talk) 21:01, 20 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Niwi3: I've looked at the article, and I think it's more than suitable now. It's a Pass. Congrats! --ProtoDrake (talk) 23:14, 20 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
