Cult?

This remake of a cult film does not itself have a reputation staked on a small fanbase. Low in budget, it was marketed to a mass audience, most of whom received it as a conventional horror film. So this has nothing to do with your personal opinion on the matter? Because it seems you have a negative bias towards the film. Cannibalism

I missed about half of this film, I watched it on Sky Movies. I missed the Chandaliar death and another Chainsaw death, I think it was the blonde girl.

Footage

The film shows footage that claims to be taken from the police files at the investigation of the "real" leatherface - does anybody know if this is true (if the footage is real)? I feel like it would make an interesting addition to the article, as well as other references to the 'true' story that tcm is based on. -Elizabennet | talk 02:04, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

You're joking, right?

There was NEVER a real Leatherface. The closest thing there was to it actually happening (in terms of it being inspired by a true story) was Ed Gein, a nutcase who wore people's skins and made furniture from bones.

I added a fairly detailed plot summary. You may edit for grammatical errors and such, but please do not leave it as it was before. The previous summary was highly ambiguous and provided no real summary of the movie.

Well, fix it then. Atleast it's more detailed than what was there before. And besides, you don't need a complete play-by-play, like the summary for the remake of Black Christmas.

We don't need a specific play-by-play but at the same time certain plot elements need to be introduced. If you're going to mention Jedidah then bring up how he tried to stop Leatherface, for example.--CyberGhostface 21:22, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Erin

Does anyone think Erin should have her own Wikipedia article? I mean almost everyone else in the film has one, and the survivor of the original TCM has one, so I think one about Erin should be added.

Ok I added a very basic page called Erin (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre). It is a stub and lacks a lot, but has the very basic information needed. Anyone that would like to contribute is welcome to.

Title?

The title of this page makes little sense in relation to its progenitor, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Both are films, and I realize neither are based on a novel or anything of that sort, which would necessitate the use of the (film) qualifier, but how does it make sense to have the original with nothing and the remake with (film), thus implying the original is not a film? Beyond concerns of strict consistency among article titles, I think this is likely to cause some confusion with people searching for either version of the film. A simpler solution would be to move this page to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003 film) and then either moving the original to The Texas Chainsaw (1974 film) or simply leaving it where it is. Another option would be disambiguation page, although in my opinion the greater notability of the original film probably makes that unnecessary. Any of these changes would be more consistent with the article titles of other films whose titles are not references to anything else. SS451 (talk) 17:56, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Plot summary & character descriptions

If someone would care to cut down the plot so that it's a *summary* and not a full description of most of the movie. And if that same person or someone else could edit if not do away with that those awful character descriptions so that they don't say things like "he died a hero" and "5th best person" to survive. They seem very biased and lingo-y amongst elementary/teenaged fans of the film. Or I'll do it later, but I don't have time to make the necessary edits at the moment.
