It's a long time since I read The Syndic but I recall a theme about psychology, which in the syndic is considered pseudoscience. The rest of the plot is also telegraphic. And didn't Kornbluth himself call the book "sick"? Surely that's interesting enough to mention. I'm hoping someone who knows the book reasonably well can expand on this.
