I'm calling for a proper editing of this page

Who ever edited this page recently is a pure idiot and should not be editing any Wikipedia page. If you're not experienced in editing of Wikipedia articles, please do not edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.40.43.100 (talk) 05:53, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

I restored it to an earlier version that doesn't have much content but is neutral, free from OR and POV claims, and is more what a Wikipedia article should be. SQGibbon (talk) 06:05, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

I was also editing it but thanks, your edit got straight to the point, and cut out the amateurish editing of the last editor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.40.43.100 (talk) 06:08, 25 June 2011 (UTC) What I'm peeved about is that someone incorrectly stated the pseudo-fact that the block is "over". I know for sure that the block still exists, because I watch it. The bottom line being that the person responsible for those edits should be dealt with swiftly and that someone has to fix this screwed-up article, be it the perpetrator, one of you guys, the administrators, a bot, whoever. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.246.84.7 (talk) 05:32, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Programming?

Do we actually have any solid information on what shows are being aired on this block for sure? I know when Keenan Thompson spoke to the public about this he mentioned some shows, but the language seemed to hint at possibility rather than confirmed anything.

[and this article needs editing so far as now it was bumped up to premiering July 23rd instead of in September. AS SEEN HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVKgu_NyoYQ]

OK, I made some changes. I trimmed the programs to what was listed in the Entertainment Weekly source (not sure how reliable their information is though). I changed the date in the lede to July as per the newer source (Nick and More provided an update to the original article that was cited here before). And I removed the dates from the programming section since it doesn't really seem to serve any purpose. SQGibbon (talk) 06:52, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Explanation of Edits

I have noticed there is a high amount of adding and removing of programing, and whenever it is changed from what some believe is the "correct" programming, it is marked as vandalism and reverted. I just want to explain why I edited what I did today - I removed Inside Out Boy and Hey Dude and inserted Secret World of Alex Mack. This edit is not just because of what I think should be on the show, but is properly referenced to a Washington Post article, which is considered a reliable source.

Now, in the description before the episodes, it says not to edit without a reliable source, which I have, but also says that the shows are on the list because "they are in the commercial". I don't think the commercial alone is a reliable source - shows occasionally put something in a commercial that does not end up airing (Make It or Break It is notorious for doing this). Plus, there were no clips (in the three commercials I saw) for Hey Dude! I'm not sure about Inside Out Boy. Either way, the list I have gathered from Washington Post, the schedule that Nickelodeon themselves confirmed, is as follows:

Aaahh!!! Real Monsters The Adventures of Pete & Pete All That The Amanda Show Are You Afraid of the Dark? Catdog Clarissa Explains it All Double Dare Doug Hey Arnold! Kenan & Kel Legends of the Hidden Temple Nickelodeon GUTS The Ren & Stimpy Show Rocket Power Rocko's Modern Life Rugrats Salute Your Shorts The Secret World Of Alex Mack

Now, this can change, and might change, but at this time, it is the confirmed list of what will be aired during the block. Reference/citation is http://live.washingtonpost.com/nickelodeon-brings-back-90s-shows.html.

Also - you should check out that reference after tomorrow - the Senior Vice President and General Manager of Nicktoons and TeenNick Keith Dawkins will be answering fan questions and comments live on this article. This should help clarify what will and won't be part of this block. There will probably be a lot of people editing this page tomorrow, because of this, as well. Barbiegurl676 (talk) 01:07, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

I duly noted your addition to the reliable sources, and have kept Alex Mack in the list (good find, by the way). It appears, given the most recent trailer and that list, that Hey Dude and Weinerville are recent additions to the queue, since neither had been mentioned until that trailer came out on July 22 and that might explain why weren't listed in the WaPo's list, which came out yesterday. Now, as for whether or not a commercial trailer can be considered a reliable source... as I understand it, the answer is yes. Commercial trailers are a primary source, and Wikipedia policy states that "A primary source may (...) be used on Wikipedia to make straightforward, descriptive statements that any educated person, with access to the source but without specialist knowledge, will be able to verify are supported by the source." As I stated in the edit summary, the commercial trailer was an official release advertising the block, which would indicate (or at least strongly imply) that the shows advertised and included in the trailer would also at some point be included in the block. Also, keep in mind that there are such things as false advertising laws in the United States, and advertising that shows will be included while not having the intention to show them could get them into a certain amount of legal trouble. One other thing to keep in mind is that the phrasing is "expected to be," since we're dealing with a lot of forward-looking statements and we have no idea when any of these shows will eventually be seen (given that the first two weeks will only have four shows, it might be a while). So, given the evidence at hand, I think it's best to keep those shows in the list until proven otherwise. (I did remove Inside Out Boy, since it doesn't have a WP article and was only a 30-second interstitial.) J. Myrle Fuller (talk) 11:42, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Response to Explanations of Editing

Well even though your true about it... They somehow showed out new ones in the commercials, and such. They might not be the only ones confirmed, Hey Dude, and Weinerville is possible due to that they show it in The 90's are All That Anthem Video for some reason. So don't think there the only ones were going to see, and besides.. they said "Shows to be aired", not "Shows they'll only aired" So there might be more. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.176.221.142 (talk) 04:21, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

New timeslot

Nickelodeon confirmed that they would move the block back to midnight Eastern. This is likely notable, but we don't know for sure until the block comes on. Railer-man (talk) 22:14, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

U-Pick Domination

Well, it seems U-Pick with Stick made a new way to vote. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.173.52.165 (talk) 18:39, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

'90s Nick UK

Hey everyone! Is '90s Nick coming to the UK aswell? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.41.94.16 (talk) 11:47, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Right now the block is airing on Nick At Nite at 8:00 PM in July 3rd, I have look it up, but I couldn't find the reason for this. It is probably an Independance Celebration or that the 1st anniversary of the block is near. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.185.17.24 (talk) 00:05, 4 July 2012 (UTC)

Re: game shows

Ladies and gentlemen, please STOP placing any further claims that this block will be airing game shows on a regular basis. None of the TV listings providers have indicated any permanent change in the schedule, nor has Nickelodeon itself said anything about this being beyond a one-week thing. If this does not stop I will be submitting a request for protection. J. Myrle Fuller (talk) 22:31, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Katie Volding

This article sounds like Katie Volding or whoever youngest Gen Xer is (early 1989-May 1989), Andrew Sims from MuggleCast. Just thought this should be helpful, Wikia, Jimbo! 24.211.181.94 (talk) 15:19, 29 April 2013 (UTC)

That was me. My IP address is 24.211.181.94. I just wanted to add that Katie Volding or Andrew Sims from MuggleNet is this article's tone. Early 1989-May 1989 is the youngest Generation X ever. Because Janelle Sheetz is June 21, 1989, Frances Marie Shaw is October 20, 1989, and they are both now older than all American Idol (season 12) contestants Candice Glover and Janelle Arthur before Laura Sylvester and Jake Thomas in December 9, 1989 and early 1990 - Abigail and Brittany Hensel in March 7, 1990. Chantal Kohl's Bernadette (talk) 15:30, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
Generation X's youngest is May 1989. MuggleNet's Andrew Sims. Or Katie Volding. Chantal Kohl's Bernadette (talk) 15:34, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
There is a reason why he's Hypable.com, or, there is a reason why he is so famous on MuggleNet and MuggleCast. He is the youngest Generation Xer before Sheetz, Shaw, Glover, Arthur, Sylvester, Thomas, and Hensel, but younger than Volding, who is an example of his agers' X generation. Generation X ended by 1981 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.98.19.20 (talk) 17:12, 10 May 2013 (UTC)

Regular show tenures

I think the specific dates for shows' regular runs on The '90s Are All That should be restored. People are going to be asking when they were on, and generalizing it to the year is not a good enough answer.--Harmony944 (talk) 21:37, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Out of the Vault section

Can we get a section devolted to the week of "Out of the Vault" specials? Here are sources for those specials: Monday, March 30, 2015 (aired Tuesday); Cry Baby Lane, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 (aired Wednesday); April Fools Special, Wednesday April 1, 2015 (aired Thursday); Weinerville, source. The Splat

Should we move this page to The Splat once the block launches, but leave the current page behind as a redirect? I'm getting the feeling that would be a good idea. ElectricBurst(Electron firings)(Zaps) 22:56, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

Since it is the new name of the block, i think this page should be renamed when the name change occur and all redirects from "The 90s Are All That" should redirect to the newly renamed page.--Boutitbenza 69 9 (talk) 04:19, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
But are "90s Are All That" and "The Splat" the same thing, or 2 different things — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:4A:403:3F70:EDBF:91FC:F3FB:ED71 (talk) 02:06, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
I'm treating it as two blocks, of similar format but not coinciding, closely enough related to be discussed in the same article. J. Myrle Fuller (talk) 22:50, 8 October 2015 (UTC)

Family Double Dare on Friday 10-9-2015? Instead of the *original* Double Dare?

Was that confirmed for sure? At least last I checked, according to the Viacom Affiliates page, the ORIGINAL Double Dare (1986-1988) was going to air on Friday, 10-9-2015, and not Family Double Dare. Maybe they changed it, maybe they didn't, I don't know (hence why I ask ;P )

Might as well generalize it, regardless of which iteration it turns out to be. J. Myrle Fuller (talk) 22:49, 8 October 2015 (UTC)
